The invisible man

<p>Scientist Griffin discovers an invisibility formula and tests it on himself. Taking advantage of his new condition, he commits robberies in complete anonymity — but cannot find the antidote and is condemned to remain invisible forever. He would be forced to live as an outsider. The novel tells a tragedy typical of loneliness and otherness.<br><br>Unable to fit into society, Griffin is a sorcerer's apprentice trapped by his own dream. Misanthropic and grotesque, this anti-hero nonetheless never fails to fascinate the reader. Tragicomic and gripping, <strong><em>The Invisible Man</em></strong> (1897) brings to life — at least on the page — one of humanity's oldest desires.</p>
