The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin exists nearly 15 years. Thus the proper time has come to present the scientific actwities of research workers employed at the Institute. This vołume contains some survey articles concerning earlier achievements together with papers which describe the current state of research in other significant fields of studies undertaken in the Institute.
